Steps to do seed load using keepitsafe backup – new client

Before doing seedload, please make sure that the computer power option is not set to go to sleep. If computer is sleeping during the scheduled backup, the backup service will not run.

1. Install Keepitsafe client on client computer.
2. Open keepitsafe client and create a backupset.
   1. Click on backup settings.
   2. On General, enter name of backupset, username and password.
   3. On Backup Source, select folders to backup.
   4. On Backup Schedule, set a new schedule (avoid creating a schedule exactly on the hour i.e 21:00 or  22:00, choose random times like 21:05 or 22:11) but make sure you unticked “Run this schedule…”. Write down computer name, this will be used to activate schedule on keepitsafe admin portal.
   5. On Encryption, type and save encryption password for client data.
   6. Click OK and save settings.
3. From keepitsafe client dashboard, click on Backup.
4. Click on Options and tick “Local Hard Disk (Seed Load Utility)” and browse for seed drive location.
5. Tick Full and click OK.
6. Once backup is finished, send back seed drive to Keepitsafe.
7. Once seedload is done on datacentre, open keepitsafe admin portal.
8. Click on customer name. Click on Edit option on the backupset.
9. Under Backup Schedule, tick the option “Run this schedule…” and type in computer name from (Step 2D) and Apply Changes.
10. Then send Installation Summary to the client. On keepitsafe admin portal, click on customer name and under Customer Overview (right side) click “Please submit now” on Installation Summary. Enter additional information needed.
